I feel like crap.
My head is totally in the clouds.
And to top it all off, it appears the husband is still giving me the silent treatment.
He really should have more than one uniform at all times, it's not my fault he doesn't. It was my fault his uniform didn't get put into the dryer last night and sat in the washing machine all night. I said I would do it for him, and didn't. I just don't think it's something big enough that I deserve silence.
If I didn't feel like poo I would have cleaned the whole damn house today to make up for it. I think he was just stressed because of some evaluation he was going through at work today. But, he's a man and will never straight up admit to it.
Bah! We never stay po'd with one another this long, maybe that's why I'm writing about it.
Anyway, back to looking at online schooling options...

Current read and a book I really want to read!
I want this book so FREAKIN' BAD! My MIL borrowed it from the local library, and I flipped through it all last night.
I love The Biggest Loser! I was so happy to see the marathon this weekend on Bravo or FoxReality or whatever it was on. Warren has been watching it with me during the week as well. I'm surprised, usually I will turn it on a show like that and he will say "is there anything else on!?" He totally gets into it! I went ahead and bought The Biggest Loser game for the Nintendo DSi too. Anyway, I found the book on Amazon for only $13!
One of the things I totally agreed with in the book is EAT BREAKFAST! Maybe it's because I just love food, but I've always been a firm believer in breakfast. Anyway, I will hopefully buy the book (the husband already gave me the OK), and maybe it will be my read for February?? We shall see!
Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill is my current read. I picked it up at the airport on the flight from Sacramento to Salt Lake. I'm about halfway through. The time I have to dedicated to reading is mostly at night. Since this book is a "ghost thriller" and I'm a HUGE pansy, I haven't had much time to read it. I'm about halfway through and when I do open it I can't put it down. If you are offended easily by some sexual references or an occasional "F" bomb, you may not like it. It had me busting up laughing when it was totally silent on the plane though.
Anyway! That's all for tonight I suppose, until next time... Have a great week!
**Update: Haha! Not even 5 minutes after I posted this, my husband looks over his shoulder and asks me "Hey babe, did you buy your book yet??" So, Master Your Metabolism will be here by no later than the 25th! Soooo excited! I also decided to buy a beginner's cookbook for $7 too! I thought that was too funny and decided to share! For real now, goodnight! =o)

A girl can dream, right?

I am IN LOVE with this house. It's in West Jordan, and man.. it's amazing. The link for it is here http://www.utahrealestate.com/917656. Go check it out! I love the colors they have used in this bedroom. I would SO keep the maroon. I didn't post any pictures, but the kitchen is nice too. The thing I love most about this house, I wouldn't have to do any renovations. I really hope there is something similar to this available when we look to by. I'm hoping we will have a home of our own by this time next year. I would love nothing more than to be able to spend the holidays in my own home. We'll see what happens after taxes, a deployment, and maybe I will be able to find some little job, once Erin lets me.
I really cannot wait for this. And just to keep my "eyes on the prize," I'm thinking of adding this home as my desktop background =o) Hope you all have a great week!

What I do, since I can't go to the gym
Okay! This post is actually kind of a response to a comment, but something I wanted to talk about anyway since it has something to do with one of my resolutions. Thank you Sandra!
Through experimentation, this week I discovered I am more productive throughout the day if I do some form of physical exercise after my morning "routine." At the beginning of the week, I got up, did my stuff on the computer, fed the kids, then hopped on the Wiifit. I did the daily body test and bits of the training portion. The daily body test weighs you and measures your BMI, then it shows your "center of balance." From there you have the option to continue to do 2 balance tests they select for your. Once those are complete it presents you with your "Fit Age." I have been lucky enough to get 20 2 or 3 times this week! I think my highest was in the 60s one day lol.
After you get your Fit Age, it gives you the option to end or go on to the training portion. There are a few options to choose from: Yoga, Strength exercises, Aerobics (my favorite part), and Balance. I LOVE the aerobics exercises. The two I do the most are boxing and hula hoop. I'm up to the advanced boxing and hula hoop, they give a little more of a challenge. I was sore for a days after just the first 2 days of this. I really like to start of with the boxing, it really seems to get my heartrate up. Then, I will switch over to the balance section and do Ski Jumping. You just get into a squat position, then stand up really fast and straight to go the farthest. After about 10 minutes of that, my legs are noodles! I love it! After I'm done with the Wiifit, if I still felt like doing some form of activity, I would hop over to my Wiisports game. I do the bowling part and the Wii fitness part. I LOVE my wii lol.
The other way I tried to start of my day was by having a cup of coffee after my morning routine. Didn't work so well, I had lots of energy, but wasn't constructive. So, I'm thinking of just plugging that into my normal routine, then starting off with some form of Wii activity.
I think the Wiifit is great for people like me who can't get to the gym period, or as often as they would like to. It's great for just some extra form of exercise, aside from housework or chasing kids. I REALLY want to get the Fit Plus. I saw there is a way you can input what you eat and stuff during the day. I like having everything in one. Meaning, I like being able to have my activity and food log in one basically. I was using sparkpeople.com/babyfit.sparkpeople.com, but I hate having to go to separate things to input everything. Just last night I discovered Biggest Loser has video games for the Wii and DS. I might have to look into the one for my DSi!
I like doing things on the Wii, although at times I feel like it isn't intense enough for me. I'm not going to lie, sometimes I really miss those hardcore type workouts we had in basic training. So, maybe a few times a week I will lay a blanket down (we have hardwood floors), and put myself through some boot camp exercises. After the holidays, I seem to be sitting right around 150. To get out of the overweight BMI bracket, I need to get below like 141 I believe. When I left basic I was 137ish and a size 5/7. I was toned! So, I would like to get down to at least 135, but no lower than 125. I don't want to look supermodel skinny, I just want to look/feel healthier and not have the excess, what I refer it as, fluff. ;o)

Idleness sucks..
First week of '10 is done and over. Minus a few meltdown's from Shannon and myself, I think it's been pretty good. I've been doing the wiifit everyday, except yesterday. But still, that's a pretty good track record for me!
I have no idea what to put on here. Don't have a whole lot to talk about, and nothing too exciting. One of these days I'll get around to posting about our vacation and put some pictures up. I felt I was going to be more motivated after my cup of coffee this morning. Yeah, not so much. It made me hella hyper and talkative, poor Warren. But, I seemed to waste all that (what could have been useful) energy on WoW.
Anyway, maybe I will write more later. Anyone have any suggestions on something to write about?? haha.. I'm open to suggestions..

Resolutions for '10
1. To actually keep my resolutions.
2. To read at least 1 new book every month.
3. To be healthier.
4. To become an all-around, better wife and mother.
1. I never do stick to any of my resolutions, not even for like a month!
2. I figure if I want to improve my writing and not seem as if I'm totally losing my brain, I need to read. Right now I am reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. I picked it up at the airport, it's a "ghost thriller."
3. There are quite a few things I need to do for this one actually. The first is going to be one of the toughest, waking up at a decent time to start with a routine. This also ties in with being a better mother. I don't need my toddler waking me up when it's time for us to be awake. After waking up, I found if I start off doing something on the Wii, I'm more energetic or ready for the day. Then, I just need to eat a little better. Less carbs, more fruits and way more vegetables. I kind of want to eat how I was when I was on my gallbladder diet.
4. The biggest part of this one is keeping the house more neat and way less cluttered. I want to do a deep clean of the main rooms, then head to the "storage" room (aka our 3rd bedroom). I need to do the deep clean so I can just do a simple daily cleaning everyday. Even if I end up procrastinating, nothing will just pile up and sit for forever. A simple daily walk-through would be so nice! Second, I want to spend more one on one time with Shannon. Our relationship can be quite tumultuous at times, and I think it may help. Lastly, I just need to make more time for me. I need to be able to find some times in either the days or in a week where I can just sit back and chill. So, I'm hoping if I am able to start by getting up at a decent time everyday, I may be able to find more "me" time for at least a little while everyday. Time to just sit back, enjoy my tea in the morning while I write in my journal or the blog, or even by reading a book.
Anyway! These are my resolutions. I may do progress checks like once a month or whatever. But I feel these resolutions will help me to be better overall.

First of '10!
Well, we are back from vacation! We arrived at the airport at 3:30 this afternoon. I never thought I would be so glad to be back in my little apartment here in Utah. I loved being able to see my mom and tons of other family members, but I'm so glad to be comfortable here again.
We got to Cali on the 24th, had dinner with my step dad's family. Christmas, we opened gifts at my mom's/grandma's, then spent time with my step dad's family again. After that, everything seems just like on big blur. I know what we did, but for the life of me, I can't think of the specifics right now! It's 1 am here and I'm beat!
Overall it was a great Christmas. And the positives of the trip definitely outweighed the negatives. One of the first items I asked my mom about when we started talking about what was gone in the fire was a Dale Earnhardt Jr jacket of my dad's. She said it was definitely gone. Well, it's not, she totally "fibbed!" My Santa present was the jacket, cleaned with just minor stains. Oh my god did I start crying when I pulled it out of the bag. All I can remember thinking was "holy crap, it actually survived!!!" Since it is newly clean, it doesn't have that distinctive smell of my father any more, but it's in one piece.
Anyway! Woohoo for my first blog in 2010!!! I'm hoping my second will contain a few more details about our trip and a third will have resolutions. Yes, resolutions, I know, I don't usually do them. I don't usually do them because historically, I have a HORRIBLE fail rate when it comes to resolutions. But this year, I'm determined to turn things around! Happy New Year everyone, hope it's off to a great start!!

Just..... thoughts
We leave for California in 2 days. I really should be doing something other than farting around on the computer. I really have no desire to do anything unrelated to the trip. All I want to do is pack or organize stuff to get ready for the trip. I don't want to clean, I don't want to cook. I want to be on the plane already!! With that being said, I have also been texting Allie most of my morning as well. She said something and it totally sparked something inside of me. I just totally need to get it off my chest!
I strongly believe in living together before you get married. Seriously, and I'm not just talking about sex here either. I believe it's important to see if you can coexist compatibly. Some people just CANNOT live together. My mom and dad were pretty much a prime example of this. They became the best of friends after they no longer lived under the same roof. Warren and I have both talked about how we wish we could have been able to live together before actually tying the knot. It took us probably close to 3 years before we finally felt like a cohabiting couple.
Anyway! My friend is living with her boyfriend of 3 years. Her family is fine with it, his isn't, it happens. So, they have now been living under the same roof for about a year now. And they've definitely had their ups and downs with it. It doesn't help the situation any having all their close friends in another state! I know exactly what that's like. Anyway, what I'm getting at here is, I think what they are doing is perfectly acceptable. They aren't even talking about marriage until they are both graduated from college. So many people nowadays just get married to be married already. Warren has a friend who has been married to his wife now for over a year, and they are still living with his mother.
If you are going to get married, I'm all for having your ducks in a row before hand. Have a house set up, have steady jobs that will support whatever lifestyle you hope to sustain. So many people just rush into a marriage and don't know who they are really marrying or what the future holds for them. There is no better way to find this kind of stuff out than if you make a decent attempt to set up shop.
Plenty of people may not agree with me on this. I needed to write it down somehow just to get it all out of my head. Or else poor Allie would have just heard all about it in numerous texts! And I didn't want to do that to her.

It's amazing what nostalgia can make you realize!
I got a chance to write a TON in my new journal this evening. I was in the section where it asked a lot about my childhood. And it got me thinking about a lot and I got totally nostalgic.
I used to LOVE playing outside. I would ride my bike as much as possible. If I was inside, I was playing games like "restaurant" or "school." Yes, I would line up all of my stuffed animals and either teach them. Or turn them all into waiters/waitresses and people eating at my restaurant. I used to write up little menus and everything! I loved having my younger cousin around. I am technically an only child, so whenever my cousin was around, I was happy! I never watched much tv. A) dad was always in control of the remote or B) I had much more important things to do.
Anyway, what writing tonight really got me thinking about was how AWESOME it is for me to have a second childhood through/with my girls! And how much they would probably love to be able to remember me being totally active with them and their activities. I mean, we don't get to be kids again, but most of us are at least given the opportunity to be able to enjoy our child(rens) childhood!
With technology nowadays, it makes it a helluva lot easier for parents to become lazy. I'm totally guilty of it. I will be one of the first to admit to using the tv as a babysitter, even for Erin sometimes. Sometimes it just seems easier to throw something into Shannon's dvd player. Yes, my 3 year old has a tv and dvd player in her room. But, I'm happy to say she has never been one to be able to strictly sit down and watch a movie. She's so creative! She will either draw or have a tea party with animal or even build amazing castles and towers with her legos. Video games, don't even get me started on video games. My husband, I swear, has more video games than we have movies, combined! He said it all started when their uncle gifted them a playstation when they were kids. I never even sat down and seriously played a video game until 3 years ago. I can honestly say, I would be beyond happy if my girls never find an interest in them.
Anyway, tired of ranting about that. I just want my kids to be able to write in their journals someday and have memories of being able to play together or even with Warren and I. Maybe this is something I can add to my New Years resolution. Yes, I'm actually going to compile resolutions this year! And it looks like I can start with "become my children's best friend.."

I plucked my eyebrows, and now they hurt..
Last night was the family get together at my in-law's since we are going to be in California for Christmas. We drew names for gifts about on Thanksgiving. Warren got an Axis and Allies game, and I got this totally awesome, hardbound journal. It's not a blank pages type though. It's one of those "about me" types. In a post back in August I wrote about a "Listography" journal I got. It's similar to that one, yet completely different. Last night I called it a "myspace survey in journal form."
Sometimes I just have such a hard time thinking of something to write about. Those journals are easy when I just feel like writing and I'm too lazy to think of a topic.
Holy cow! We leave for California in 5 days! I feel so unprepared and somewhat overwhelmed. I want to do a deep clean in most of the apartment before we leave. So far it doesn't look like it's going to be completed. Maybe 80% will be done. I hope to have most all laundry done by tomorrow as well. I always seem to procrastinate before a trip. Then I get all stressed and flustered.
So Warren and I ordered a purple, 16gb Ipod Nano for mom yesterday. One of her Xmas presents. We are going to load it up with Beatles and Led Zeppelin, maybe some other stuff too. I also bought her the new Stephen King book. I CANNOT wait to see the look on her face.
I really haven't been a big fan of Xmas since my father died. I just can't seem to "get into the holiday spirit." The only reason I can manage to show an ounce of excitement is for the girls and my mom. I'm so glad Warren is like me and doesn't try to force me into liking it either. And I have never celebrated the religious aspect of the holiday either. I actually think I wrote an entry about Christmas last year too.. Oh well. I better get off the computer and watch more tv or something unproductive. It's almost 9 pm anyway. We have decided to start being productive tomorrow..
